| Dickson High School was built in 1962 and in 1976 became one of the original senior secondary colleges in the ACT. The College maintains a wonderful blend of tradition, history and achievement together with a sense of strength, innovation and progress. Dickson College offers a Year 12 Certificate which can suit the needs of all students, whether your future pathway be University, Canberra Institute of Technology, School of Music, AIS, ADFA, travel or work. The College enjoys an enviable record of success in academic, sporting and cultural endeavours. Choosing the right college is of paramount importance to your future. Before deciding on a college you need to identify your particular skills and abilities, think about your career aspirations and then gather as much information as possible to make an informed choice. All government colleges provide an excellent education providing opportunities to all students allowing them to perform to their potential. All have educationally sound programs capable of challenging the brightest students. Students should make an informed choice as to which college best suits their individual needs and abilities. At Dickson we are enormously proud of the achievements and successes of our past and present students and we believe this indicates the thorough preparation our curriculum provides for the whole range of our student population. Our curriculum is under constant review so that whatever your interests and abilities, we can cater for you. Over the past few years we have added many vocational courses. Please consider including one of these courses in your total package whether it be a tertiary or accredited certificate you wish to attain. In addition you can participate in a vast array of academic, sporting, cultural and community based activities. The opportunities are there for you to choose, to enrich your experiences and broaden your skills. Dickson College is a great place to be - we hope you choose to become a member of our community.
