The Faculty of Information Technology at Dickson College aims to provide students with the opportunity to gain ICT skills and competencies necessary to meet industry needs and to gain industry qualifications and experience through work placement and the student apprenticeship program (ASBA).

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (T/V)
Students can mix and match units from the following streams to make up a double major ( 7 units), major/minor (5 units) and major (3 ½ units). All students are encouraged to complete a minimum of one work-placement to be eligible for the Certificate II in Information Technology.

Dickson College is looking to partner with Microsoft to offer the Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician qualification (MCDST) as part of the Information Technology course which may be offered in 2007.

COMPUTER OPERATIONS (A/V)

BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (A/V)
Students are required to do a minimum of one work-placement to be eligible for the Certificate II in Business Services.
Business Administration 1
Developing keyboarding skills, operating a personal computer, producing simple work processed documents, follow and participate in
workplace safety procedures, follow and participate in environmental work practices, prepare for work in business and communication skills.
Business Administration 2
Planning skills, working effectively in a business environment, using business equipment, handling mail, using business technology, create and use simple spreadsheets and accessing the Internet.
Business Administration 3
Prepare and process financial business documents, process and maintain workplace information, work effectively with others, communicate in the workplace, create electronic presentations.
Business Administration 4
Job seeking skills, delivering a service to customers, providing information to clients, databases and producing business documents.
