FASHION (T/A/V)
Fashion encompasses the latest or most admired styles, shapes and forms in clothing and interiors. In these courses students will have the opportunities to develop their creative potential through the medium of fashion and textiles design.

HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY STUDIES (A/V)
This nationally recognised vocational course is a prerequisite for students who wish to pursue a career in the Hospitality Industry. This course is most suitable for students who wish to undertake the following:
* Obtain Government Sponsored Traineeships or Apprenticeships
* Work in the Hospitality Industry (Casual or part-time)
* Continue studies at CIT to gain Certificate 3 / 4 Diploma Levels
This course is also suitable for students who want to acquire further life skills. Students undertake Certificate 1 in Year 11 and Certificate 2 in Year 12.
The following units can be used to make up a Hospitality course, they will not all be offered each semester.

Bar Service:
Provide general assistance in a bar area; carry out bar operations; provide responsible service of alcohol.
Note: A Bar and Beverage Course can simultaneously be studied at CIT to gain further competencies. It is not compulsory, however, Dickson Hospitality staff will assist students to enrol. The course is over eight weeks and attracts a fee that students must pay to CIT on commencement of the course.
TOURISM (A/V)
Welcome to Tourism, where we will teach you skills associated with the tourism industry. Tourism offers careers in a wide variety of jobs such as:
Airlines, Event Management, Travel Agents, Tour Operators, Attraction- Theme Parks. This course is designed to provide students with the opportunity to develop specific skills associated with the tourism industry. Those who successfully complete the compulsory competencies will obtain a nationally recognised Certificate II in Tourism.
Others may obtain a Statement of Attainment listing all competencies gained. Students are given the opportunity to complete work placements during the course. Students gaining their Certificate II in Tourism gain automatic entrance into the Certificate III at CIT.
This course is targeted at a broad range of students:
* Students who hope to attend CIT to study tourism
* Students wanting skills to assist them in applying for a part-time position in a travel agent, tourist destination, etc
* Students who have an interest in the industry and may seek employment in the future
* Students may enter the course at any semester start point and complete the competencies in that semester.

Some of our past students are currently working within travel agents (Flight Centre traineeships), the National Zoo and Aquarium and Public Service Corporate Travel Services. Others have gone on to complete their Certificate III in Tourism Operations and Event Management
