Dickson College : International Students
Dickson College has approximately 50 International Fee Paying Students (IPS) mostly from Asia. This is in a population of around 600 students. The College accepts students from the age of 16. Students with limited English may undertake a preliminary course in English language at our College.
Younger students can do a full-time intensive English course at the Secondary Introductory English Centre, (SIEC), also located on our campus, and then come to study at Dickson College for Years 11 and 12.
At Dickson College students can do a wide range of courses, for example, Mathematics at 4 different levels, English as a Second Language, Business Studies, Information Technology and Music, over 2 years, towards a Year 12 Certificate. Students can also gain University entry, if required.
As an INTERNATIONAL STUDENT at Dickson College you can study for a Year 12 Certificate and university entry.
What is a Year 12 Certificate?
It is a 2 year (4 semester) study package, including 3 or 4 majors (subjects studied for 2 years) and 2 or 3 minors (subjects studied for one year).
You will study 5 or 6 subjects of your own choice, each semester, including English as a Second Language.
You can choose from a wide range of subjects including Mathematics at 3 levels, Science subjects such as Physics and Chemistry, Information Technology, Business Studies, languages, including French, Chinese and Japanese for native speakers, Sports Studies, Music, Art, Photography and Technical Drawing, depending on your interests and abilities.
You will have help from experienced advisors on the most suitable courses for you.

Accommodation
Homestay accommodation is available with selected families in areas close to the school. Homestay accommodation with an Australian family costs approximately $200 per week. If you have friends or relatives in Canberra you may organize your own homestay accommodation.More Information
