Dickson College's unique Transitions Program is an additional support for selected Years 11 and 12 students.
One strength of the program is its flexibility - a personalised program is designed to support students in completing their Year 12 Certificate.
Students who participate in the Transitions Program develop new and additional skills in:
- Literacy and numeracy
- Organisational skills to assist in management of workloads in their other subjects
- Succeeding with college assessment, including preparation and planning, for their other subjects.
Enrolment into the transitions program at Dickson College is through a referral process the Student Wellbeing Centre and our Transition and Careers Officers.
After successful enrolment in the transitions program, all students are interviewed to identify strengths and areas for development. This allows teachers to better cater for individual student needs.
At Dickson, we want all students to succeed, and this is another way we are achieving our goals and living up to our ethos: excellence, opportunity, community.
